Workshops
I am available to conduct workshops on location on various fashion-related technical and theory subjects. Courses can be tailored to your specifications, and address a myriad of learning levels.
Workshop presentations include:
Basic and Advanced Clothing Construction
(These hands-on workshops introduce the participants to basic or advanced methods of constructing garments using a commercial pattern. Participants will learn cutting, construction, pressing, and finishing techniques for creating professional looking clothing.)
Basic and Advanced Fashion Draping
(These hands-on workshops introduce the participants to the basic or advanced art of creating patterns for clothing on a dress form. Participants have the opportunity to drape a garment of original design.)
Flat Pattern Design
(This hands-on workshop introduces the participants to the craft of using a master pattern and manipulating it to create new designs.)
Tailoring Techniques
(This hands-on workshop introduces the participants to couture and ready-to-wear methods of constructing tailored garments such as jackets, skirts, pants, or coats.)
Survey of Textiles
(This theory-based workshop introduces the participants to textiles from fiber to the finished fabric. Particular emphasis is placed on exploring the various sewing techniques for selected fabrics, their care, and end-use.)
